The clients asked that this 3,200 sq.ft. home be styled after a Cape Cod house, so we traveled to Lyme, Connecticut to match the window, door, and overall dimensions to original houses from the 18th Century. To give the home the look of an original Cape, we lowered the profile of the home by detailing the foundation so that the ground floor is just two steps above the walkway. Highly insulated with programmed ventilation and heating, this home was recognized by the local energy utility for the lowest energy usage of any house in the neighborhood.
